McGee served as the Majority Caucus Chairman, the fourth-ranked leadership position in the Idaho Senate and spent two terms as Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee. He was elected to the Caldwell City Council in 2019 where he serves as the Vice Chairman.
A life-long resident of Caldwell, McGee is a graduate of Vallivue High School and received a BA in History from the College of Idaho; he was elected student body president at both institutions.
